Opression Essay

In my essay i will talk about times I've been opressed times other have been opressed and i will even compare. I will also talk about the word opression and what it means to be opressed just incase you haven't been through or exprienced it. Its just about everyday when someone is being opressed. So if you will listen closely then you will know what the word means and you will have a small feeling of how it feels to opressed.

Theres book i read the name of it is called The Black boy. He was a kid that wrote a book and had a dream of writing a book. Well he did just that he wrote a book. No one had faith in him or did they think it was a good idea. His own family members even thought it was a bad idea his own mother even told him that he need to grow up and stop acting as if he was a kid. She also told him that he wasn't a kid anymore and that he should come to reality. The point of me telling you this is to tell you that was a way of opression cause his own family was trying to keep him down.

A time when i was opressed well ive been opressed a bunch of times. People often tell me that i cant make it to the nfl . I dont let any of it bother me because Iknow what im capable of doing. If i work hard i can make to the nfl on eof my favorite sayings is you are your own obstacle and i want let anyone stop me from doing my dream. Thats away that i have been opressed. I just dont show i cause i dont let that bother me at all.

Night Describing Charaters

In the story night there was there was this guy that you would call a block leader. he wsant mean to the people at all. In fact he was a very cool person. Midway through the book he told some of the people about the selection and that they must get completeley undressed and that they would have to go in one by one. He said once you get through one of the rooms dont walk slowly run as fas tas you can run as if the devil was behind you and dont look back.he was very cool guy he helped them out and gave pointers and tips when he didnt have to. So that was the block leader and thats my character desciption for the block leader in the story Night.

Black Boy Dear Readers

Hi. My name is Richard Wright. Im a african american. Im still in school and i dont often get into alot of trouble. I wrote a book and other dont seem to think that it was a good idea no one supported me i had no help and no one thought it was a good idea for me to write a book but i did. my own parents even thought i was crazy and told me that i need to grow up and that it was time that i stop acting like a little kid and be serious. I thought it would be interesting for me to write a book since no one believed in me so thats what i did hope you all enjoy.

Black Boy Analyzing Dialouge

The dialouge that i chose was the one when the little black boy and his family had a conversation about him writing a story and it being published. In the dialouge the boy was talking about his book to another kid that he knew. They was talking and the boy basked him hey you didnt get that book published did you. He replied who told you to do that. He said nobody and the other little boy said well if no one told you to do it then why did you do it. Even his family questioned him about the book. Not just that his own mother asked him whotold you to wwrite that book she told him that he is getting older and that it was time that he acted like he was. She alsom said by writing those stories your only making a fool of yourself. I chose that dialouge because it was funny how back then they thought you was crazy for writing and how they got in trouble for it but now days kids take it for granite.

Biogarphy

The biography that i read is on Cornell Hayes better known as nelly a former graduate of University City High School. I chose to review nelly's biography because i think hes a great rapper and he seems like a very cool person. Not to mention he graduated from the same highschool that i attend . So i thought it would be cool for me to learn about one of our local celebrities. Thats why i thought it would be cool for me to talk about his life.
When Nelly was a toddler he lived in spain until he was about three years old. Thats when he moved from spain to st. louis and started school at the age of seven nellys parents got into a divorce and not just that nelly admitted that use to get into alot of fights and troulbe as a child cause hungout with alot of the older guys. Well that was atleast he was always in trouble until got to highschool and realized his talents and love for the game of baseball. Not only was he good at baseball he was great i mean for a while it looked like he was going to be a baseball player straight out of highschool until he realiized he could rap as well.
It wasnt long after he figured out that he could rap before he made a group named the St.lunatics. after nelly and his group was established two years later he dropped a single called gimmie what you got and sold almost 10,000 copies nelly continued the st lunatics while playing shortstop for the st.louis amateur baseball association. If he would have continued playing he would have went pro in baseball but shortly before going pro he was signed and he got his big break.
Once nelly got his big recording deal with universal it wasnt long before he blew up and became this big star that he is now. Shortly after that he dropped a album called country grammer and that shipped patinum then double platinum and so on after that and thats how nelly became the big star and role model that he is to this day.

Writing About Literature

I think the theme of the story was for us to see that no matter what kind of gift you are getting or how much it cost just make sure its from thew heart. See in the magi they didnt give any gifts that was to spectacular but it was from the heartl. ON the other hand her husband gave a nice gift but it wasnt only nice it meant something. Thats what i think

Second Draft/Personal Essay

Last football season was one of the best football teams that ive ever played on in my entire life. Well out of my seven years of football in the JFL league. We had athlete after athlete at almost every position even our lineman were skilled they werent just big fat guys that was lazy they did every thing we did . I dont want to give it allup in one paragraph. So listen up closely.





Our defense was very good and solid one thing about us was that we never gave up weather up or down 20 points. we rarely ever had problems on the defensive end. Sometimes we struggled at away games. I say that because we would come out flat and not hyped up suppose to a home game when we were amped up and ready to play. After a return from halftime it was like a home game for us. Most of the games we played away we lost or we almost lost, but no one would come and take a victory from us. that just wasnt happening.





Our offense was very good and fast. Our running backs and receivers were so explosive off the line that other teams wasnt able to keep up. Our quaterbacks and receivers had a peyton manning and marvin harrison type of relationship. every time the ball went up for grabs it was either a touchdown or a fifty yard pass. Our running back was fast and explosive. he had alot to do with some of the games that we had won.







The overall team was great everyone got alone well. No matter what happened we always made each other feel good even after someone messed up big time. We never talk bad about one another we was something like a unity we never let others get between us and our team.









Finally ! So now you all have the run down on our freshman football team we couldnt be touched. Next year you will se a stronger, faster and better team Once champions and always champions and thats never going to change. So look forward to seeing us again next year CLASS OF 2010!!!!!!!!!!!

IF ONLY I COULD

Start my freshman year over again therer would be alot of changes from the way things happened. if i could start over again i would change the way i played in class. not only that i would change the way i wrestled and actually care for the sport. Last but not least i would have went and approached a girl i know alot earlier than i did.
if i had a chance to start my freshman year over i would have set a goal for myself forward school. i would have stayed consistant like i was the first month of school. i would have went straight into doung my homework. not only that instead of playing and talking in class with my friends i would pay attention to the class lesson so that way i would have a better understanding of what is being taught. thats what i would have changed when it comes to school.
i have two last things that i would change which is my passion for the sport of wrestling and me approaching a special girl that i like. this wrestling season wasnt really good one for me because i didnt really care for the sport. Towards the end of the season wrestling became fun to me and i started to like it. now about the girl i was talking about is really everything i could ask for in a girl. my only regret for this school year is me not talking to her.
